Will One Cycle of Prohormones Hurt You?
Here at Supplement Warehouse, our team sells 100's of prohormones per day. These are the non-methylated, 100% US legal prohormones, not the old methylated prohormones that were banned back in 2012. So the answer to the question, "Will One Cycle of Prohormones Hurt You?" is much different now than it would have been pre-2012.
What are Prohormones?
Today's prohormones are DHEA derivatives, so they work with the body. They are precursors to anabolic hormones. When you take a prohormone, through a long series of chemical reactions in the body, it will turn into compounds such as testosterone, DHT or 1-testosterone, all depending on the prohormone that you decide to purchase.
Now the prohormones before 2012 were methylated and could be very harsh on your organs, such as the liver. They also would cause your natural testosterone to shut down. Many users had a lot of side effects and problems with these types of prohormones. That is a big reason that they were banned and are no longer available for sale. You don't have to worry about running into these types of prohormones any longer, as any legit business will not be selling illegal compounds such as those.
Who are Prohormones For?
Prohormones should only be taken by men over the age of 21. Normally the older you are, the more effective they will be. They should not be taken by teenagers or women. Also, if you have any medical conditions it is not recommended to take prohormones until you speak with your doctor. If you fit into those demographics and are looking to increase lean muscle mass, size, strength or preserve muscle, then prohormones might be a good fit for you.
How do You Take Prohormones?
You should always follow the directions on the bottle from the manufacturer. They are there to keep you as safe as possible. Most compounds are taken 1-3 times per day for up to 8 weeks, but depending on the prohormone you choose, the directions and dosage can be different. That is why you should make sure to always read the label! Then once your 8 week cycle is over, you always want to run a PCT (Post Cycle Therapy) such as Arimiplex for 4 weeks after.
One added piece of information here. If you are taking a product that is a 4-andro, estrogen issues are a risk. It's a small risk, but it can happen. We see this most with products such as Sustanon 250, Brutal 4ce or Androdiol. If you have concerns, it is best to take an anti-estrogen such Arimistane while on cycle.
Most of the side effects that users experience are due to increase estrogen levels. Acne, aggression, gyno, bloating etc. This is why Arimistane could be a great product to have on hand.
How can you prevent these side effects from happening? Again, still to the directions on the bottle. Manufacturers don't want you to get side effects. It is bad for business. So stick to what they tell you!
Will One Cycle of Prohormones Hurt You?
So back to the original question. I wanted to give you all the information above to show that as long as you stick to these recommendations, one prohormone cycle WILL NOT hurt you. There shouldn't any long term side effects. You shouldn't have any issues with testosterone or estrogen. You could test one cycle out, see how well you like it, and then decide whether to run another or never run another cycle again.
Conclusion
Here is a quick list of things to do in order to take a cycle that will not hurt you.
- Do not take if you are a woman
- Do not take if you are under 21
- Do not take if you have any pre-existing medical conditions
- Stick to the directions on the bottle
- Take proper cycle support and PCT supplements
- Do not take for longer than 8 weeks (most prohormones)
